HTC Brain Vital Signs

A global game-changing healthcare breakthrough.

BVS Summary:
The discovery of brain vital signs is a global game-changing healthcare breakthrough, which is revolutionizing the way we measure brain health. Developed by world-renowned neuroscientist Dr. Ryan D’Arcy and researchers from Simon Fraser University, it is a new science framework for analyzing complex brainwave technologies that have been around for nearly a century.

Just like other health vital signs – such as blood pressure, heart rate and pulse oxygenation – the development of brain vital signs represents an essential advance as simple, practical and objective physiological markers of brain functions in non-communicative individuals with severe brain injury and disease.

The science behind brain vital signs serves to improve the ability for healthcare experts to provide better diagnosis and treatments for injuries like concussions, brain injuries, and stroke along with diseases like Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, and so many others.

The team at HealthTech Connex Inc. (HTC) is working to bring brain vital signs to any portable brainwave device that can be used by health care specialists and any individual who wants to regularly track their own brain health. HTC is currently developing the NeuroCatch™ brain monitoring platform to translate the brain waves into objective, practical and deployable HTC Brain Vital Signs that help better monitor brain function.

How brain vital signs work:
Brain Vital Signs are derived from brain wave data to measure brain health. These are based on over 70 years of research in event-related potential (ERP) science.

Brain Vital Signs can be divided into three specific categories.
1) An overall score of 30;

2) A, B ,& C sub-scores of 10 each, representing: Auditory Sensation, Basic Attention, and Cognitive Processing; and

3) 6 Elemental Brain Scores

The Brain Vital Signs ReportTM summarizes the results of established brain wave responses (known as ERP components) into a clinically accessible framework (see figure)
